Having problems with your Chevrolet Camaro ?

We have a 97 Camaro with the 3.8L V6. The two engine check engine codes are 0420 and 1406. Is it possible that the EGR valve problem is causing the catalytic converter problem? thanks

Answers :

Yes. Try removing the EGR valve and cleaning it by hand with a brush or scraper. Solvent will destroy the diaphragm material. Clean out the ports in the block and head as well. Check that it holds vacuum and reinstall. Clear your codes and see if they return after running for a while.
