Having problems with your Chevrolet Cargo ?

1990 Chevy Van with a 350 small block that has a mind of it's own.

\015 I have a 1990 Chevy Van with a 350 - 5.7 - When cold, It fires up after about the fifth crank but runs very rough and wants to die. The only way to keep it running is to work the gas pedal. Then when putting it into reverse or drive it dies quickly. I have to push on the brakes and the gas pedal at the same time to get the van moving. The RPM also raises and lowers by itself. When giving some gas it it gets louder, hesitates and has no power. If I floor it, it hesitates for a second then kicks down to low gear and takes off for a second or two then the power begins surging. It don't back-fire - It shakes and idles rough. Dies while idling (mainly when it is in gear). Sometimes after warm up while parking the van then shifting out of drive into park it quickly and suddenly dies. Sometimes it runs great until I turn on the lights then it begins acting up. Throttle Body has the (two) fuel injectors and a separate coil. I replaced the Dist Cap, Rotor, Spark Plugs, Spark Plug Wires. I don't know, it has to be something simple. But I am stumped!\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 12-11-2018
