Having problems with your Chevrolet Cavalier ?

I had my left and right axle seals replaced on my 2004 chevy cavalier last week. When I picked up my car, I heard a hollow knocking sound. I brought my car back in and they told me my axle links(?) rusted out which caused another thing to break which is going to cost me another $300. My question is when they fixed the axle seals, should they have been able to tell my axle links were rusted out?

Answers :

Not sure what axle links are but they may have been referring to the stabilizer links. These are surrounded by rubber bushings and plastic.Short of them breaking they are difficult to see how rusted they are until they actually break because they usually break on the inside which isn't very visible. But what I am questioning more then anything is the price for replacement. If it is the link pins they were referring too anything over 125.00 150.00 for this repair is way to much and that should repair both sides.
