I have a 71 C10 with a posi rear end. When I turn

\015 I have a 71 C10 with a posi rear end. When I turn and accelerate the rear end make a clunking/slipping noise, but straight take offs are fine? Is this common with posi rear ends are is the noise a problem? I put new carrier bearings and posi oil additive as well as new rear end oil. I got it the chunk from another vehcile and put it in my truck. \015\012Thanks\015\012Jason\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 24-06-2019

Answers :

Chunk---Center Section, 1960's term. Put in new Posi Discs/Clutches. Make sure you shim it properly, I like tight and the springs do weaken. So your call on stiffer or OEM
Make a series of tight turns in both directions if posi plates are stuck often that will free them. I have no idea what a chunk is so I'll refrain from commenting on that one.
