Chevy brake lights not responding

I would test the brake light switch and the fuse of course, it should have battery voltage (12+ volts) to one side of the connector (under the dash above the brake pedal) when the brake pedal is not depressed, when pressed the brake switch should have 12 volts at both sides of the switch connector. Replace as needed or repair the wiring.
