Having problems with your Chevrolet Cobalt ?

Our 2006 Chevy Cobalt is having starting problems. The vehicle will not start the engine even though there is battery voltage present(headlights turns on) but there is a loud clicking/tapping sound coming fron the engine compartment when the ignition key is turn on. It was noticed that the headlights were supposedly left on an whole hour and a half earlier before this time around, thinking the battery eventually were drained thus can not start the engine. What could be causing the engine star

Answers :

OK, if the battery is fully charged (I would slow charge it 3 days after leaving the headlights on), then the starter could be bad. However, I would definitely check out that battery thoroughly before replacing an expensive part like a starter.

\015\012Batteries have an average life of only 3 years. If the 2006 Cobalt has the original battery, it's possible that it can run the headlights and the instruments and not have enough CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) to start the car. The starter takes the most amount of energy or amperage of any accessory on the vehicle.
