Having problems with your Chevrolet Impala ?

Timing chain 2003 impala 3.8l

\015 I was wondering what the procedure is for checking/changing a timing chain or sprockets on a 2003 impala 3.8l? Either the chain is slipping teeth or is stretched and loose. Won't be sure until I get in there, but need to know how first.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 01-06-2020

Answers :

You need to diagnose what ever problem the vehicle
or motor has first, before assuming you have timing
chain issues
Have to do testing that confirms timing issues & points
to mechanical components
When someone has to go to the internet to ask about how to
work on a motor, then in most cases you have little experience
in general, with what is involved & certainly not the tools that
will be needed
Go to You Tube Video & see what you come up, with on
how the motor comes apart & how to set the gears & chains
Best leave that job to a repair shop AFTER THEY Diagnose
