Having problems with your Chevrolet Silverado ?
I have a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado Z71. The front end starts to shake around 41 mph but, once you accelerate to around 50, it stops. I have had an alignment done and tires balanced. Do you have any suggestions??
Answers :
I agree, it sounds like a malformed tire. Too much rubber on one side of the tire, uneven steel belt, tread separation etc. This is easy to check if you jack up each tire and hold a ruler close to the tire and spin the tire while watching for high spots. After identifying which tire it is, go back to the dealer and point them to the right one.
Your wheels and tires were probably static balanced and did not catch a tire being out of round....hope this helps
