Having problems with your Chevrolet Silverado 2500 ?

I have just had a complete brake job (everything has been replaced, front to back) done. The problem is that at exactly 60 Kph the brake warning lights (all of them ) come on and stay on until I stop and turn off the engine. As long as I do not exceed the 60 kph speed they stay off. I have changed the brake system module but the problem is still there. What do I do next? (the mechanic is baffled)

Hello jaukca68,

Your description sounds like a wheel speed sensor is bad.

Have you check for codes from your ABS? A bad wheel speed sensor will cause the lights to come on and then they will go off after the ignition is turned off and won't come back on until the error occurs again. It sounds as if 60 Kph is the trigger.

Depending on the scan tool used to look at the ABS codes, the codes may or may not be stored in history to view after the ignition has been turned off, so you may need to look for the codes before you cycle the key. And of course the lights must be on.

All so if you have the ability to graph with your scan tool you should be able the watch all speed sensor at the same time and see the bad one.

On Chevrolet's it's typical to replace the complete hub assembly to replace the wheel speed sensor.

I how this helps you.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. Are there any apparent break problems as of now? When the light comes on?
