Having problems with your Chevrolet Suburban 1500 ?

I have a 1999 suburban - door panel won't come off.

\015 I have a 1999 suburban and I need to know how to remove the driver's side front door panel. We cannot get out of the vehicle using the latch. It's loose and we actually have to roll down the window and open it from the outside. I figure that the cable is broken or came loose. I won't know until I get the panel off. Any suggestions?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-10-2020

Its not a cable, its a long rod either the handle broke inside the arm rest or the latch is bad. find all screws your can and then you have to pry out the little plastic christmas tree door panel retainers, with a big flat head screwdriver start at the bottom left of panel and pry- hard. youll feel em pop about 18 around exterior of panel and maybe 2-3 in the middle. once you got the panel flopping lift up to release ffrom weather stripping and unplug your wires and door linkage gently and thats it. be prepared to by most of the new fasteners at parts store, if they are the 2-peice ones then they are dealer only. they always break dont feel bad they are made to go in once. reverse to install, snap new fasteners into panel line up push in, once all are started use the palm of your hand to bang the panel firmly to tightly set all fasteners. theres only like 3 screws to pull out think one is below the interior grab handle, and you gota pry off the little triange peice on the back side of the mirror, a screw there too, and maybe one behind the speaker grill. sorry- im whooped good luck
