Having problems with your Chevrolet Venture ?

I just failed my N.J. state inspection for the following reason. Can you help? The white back-up lights stay on at all times. I checked the b/u light fuse and found it to be good. Any ideas what I can check next.

The back up light switch is shorted.

\015\012it is usually located at the transmission . when you put it in reverse, it should turn on the back up lights, but if it is no longer in reverse, it should cut off the light, so it must have been shorted that is why the reverse light is always on.
