Having problems with your Chrysler Town & Country ?

Transmission does not engage

\015 2002 Chrysler Town and Country 3.8\012\012after driving at highway speed for about an hour, experienced a "jerk and sharp spike in rpms" followed by "loss of power." After pulling over, shifted to park and back to drive and no engagement; checked other gears and no engagement. Checked tranny oil - level and color appear normal. Shifts normally and no unusual sounds.\012\012manual key check revealed codes: p1684 and p1698\012\012other than noted below, have not experienced any difficulty with shifting; trans oil changed mid-november\012\012note: last august the previous owner had the tcm replaced with one pulled from another vehicle because it was in lim in mode and the shop that did the work did not program it and owner was told engine light and prndl would remain lit until this was done at a dealership.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 14-01-2019
