Having problems with your Datsun 720 ?

I have a 1984 nissan 4wd pu truck with a z-24 engine. The problem is that the choke on the carb remains closed at all times...even after the engine has warmed up. This caused the engine to flood and die after a bit of warm up and I have to insert a device to hold the choke butterfly valve open....which means I have no choke during cold starting. What is keeping this choke full on all the time?

Answers :

The carburetor is equipt with a vacuum control which has a vacuum line attached toi it. Replace that item for it controls the choke
Hello. Begin by getting an aerosol can of choke cleaner at the auto parts store. Squirt some into the choke and let it sit for 30 minutes to dissolve some of the residue. Repeat until your stuck choke is unstuck. Joe
