Cooling fan is not tuning on. Turn the AC on when this is happening. The fan should kick on. If it doesnt the fan or relay or computer may have an issue. If it does come on thats good. You just may have a sensor issue. Will need a scanner to see the temp reach just above 220 and when it does computer should kick on fan. A bad sensor can give a weak reading even tho the engine is plenty hot. I assume you did top off the coolant, correct ?? and you still have this issue
I have the 95. But their infamous for water pumps to function badly and or blades start to age and dosent pump efficently. There is also a 3rd hose which goes from one part of the engine to another which wears with age and can be hard to noticed when its failed. Also while checking the water pump change out the thermostat too.
