Having problems with your Ford Cars & Trucks ?

I have a 1994 ford explorer ,it will idle up and down and it surges when driving,during warm months it wont idle good after its getting colder it idles up and down i can cruise 45 mile an hour and never touch the pedal,it acts like it shuts down for a second when im driving

Answers :

When idles surges its due to false air, The MAF (mass air flow) calculates the amount of air and responds to the proper amount of fuel, When you get false air such as a broken PCV valve,or ruptured vacuum hose the idle increases and you get the surge that you are describing,Your basically out of fuel control .
