Having problems with your Ford Focus ?

Vehicle develops fuel starvation problems usually on return trips with approx half tank of fuel. vehicle slows and eventually stops. I turn engine off, wait a few minutes then it will re-start and drive about 4 miles then slows again. No warning lights on dash , and no overheating.

Sounds like fuel pump is getting hot and dying, or basically won't pump up to required pressure, accept when cool. If you notice it goes further on a cold day, and full tank before it starts to die, change fuel filter and see if that helps, but don't be surprised if pump needs replacement. If you can get it to a shop for a fuel pressure test when it starts to act up, they can throw a pressure gauge on it to confirm my suspicions. It will probably read good pressure when first started, but then when it gets hot from running for a while, it will read low.
