Having problems with your Ford Ranger ?
Changed out alternator and still has a problems charging
\015 After replacing the alternator,my gage still is reading a low amp\015
One way to be sure the gauge is right is to put a voltmeter on the battery with engine running. If the voltmeter reads under 13 volts, alternator is not working. Voltmeter should read 13.5 volts up to about 14.5, in that range. If the alternator is not working, check for a blown alternator fuse in the power distribution box, and recheck alt. and batt. connections. A loose connection anywhere there will prevent alternator from working.
