Having problems with your GMC Jimmy ?

I believe my 2005 Canadian GMC Jimmy has detonation problems. It has done this since I purchased it new. It has been to the dealer many times and I always get "operating within normal parameters" from the service people. The noise sounds like a rattle from deep in the center of the engine. It only occurs on a fully warmed up engine (i.e. it is not occur with a cold engine). It is worse in the summer than the winter. I've tried all grades of gasoline incl. ethanol blends and noticed no diff

This problem is common in all engines under the parameters that you describe. The only sure way to see if everything is ok is to get an engine diagnostic machine installed on it and then drive it up hill and see if the knock sensors are hearing the knock and the computer is changing the timing to compensate for it.
\015\012Oxygen sensors should be changed at 40 to 60 thousand
Sounds all good to me especially since you dont have a code present.
\015\012Go back to the platinum plugs and run only high octane fuel all the time.
\015\012You didnt mention how many miles you had on the engine.
