Misfire & black soot on ignition coil

\015 My car almost stalled at a light and then the check engine light started blinking. Seems to be a misfire from the sound of the exhaust. The spark plugs were white and one of the ignition coils is covered in black soot. I changed the plugs and air filter. I also checked the ignition coils and all of the plugs are getting a spark.\015\012\015\012Could it be an issue with one of the valves?\015\012\015\012Not sure if it's related since it's been going on for years, but every once in a while the car stalls right after I start it. I have to keep my foot on the gas until I get going, then it's fine.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 25-10-2021

Blinking check engine light means major misfire on one or more cylinders. You may get spark on a test but under load it may be getting blown out ..id replace the coils and bring in your spark gap 4000th of what its set.also an extremely clogged cat can cause backfires too.also it wouldnt hurt to pull your injectors and clean them and check the injection seals and the fuel filter low fuel pressure or junky injection can cause this too.
