Having problems with your Hyundai Sonata ?

I startup engine, then, turned headlights. The headlights had been on about 2 seconds, then, both headlights were suddenly off. High beam lights are ok. Today, I went to AutoZone and changed new fuse (15a) for the headlights, still not work. Any help or instruction will be highly appreciated. My car is hyundai sonata 2002. Tim

Answers :

Maybe the low beam of both headlights blew up. Headlight bulbs have 2 coils, 1 for high beam and 1 for low beam. Just like a regular light bulb, when the coil breaks the light doesn't work. But the high beams are still ok. If you've never changed em, 8 years come around its probably around time to replace them. If you can, see if you can remove the bulbs. It's pretty easy, for most cars its just locate where the lights are located under the hood, then turn the headlight bulb housing counter clockwise and should pull out. inspect it for any broken coils. if you need to replace both, get the part number or take it to a parts store and ask an employee for help. If you reinstall it yourself, be sure not to let your fingers touch the new bulb. if you do, clean it with rubbing alcohol before you put it back in the housing.
