Having problems with your Jeep Cherokee ?

I have some up and down play in my steering wheel on my '89 Jeep Cherokee. How do I get to the bolts to tighten them?

Get under that jeep yourself and check to see if any of the tie rod\015\012ends are loose, or if the pitman arm is loose. Get someone to wiggle\015\012the steering wheel and figure out where the play is.

\015\012You need to identify the problem and have a professional front end\015\012alignment, and make SURE that your tires match, and are properly\015\012inflated. Is the front end very noisy?
\015\012
\015\012"Drifting" can be caused by mismatched tires, a badly worn tire, the\015\012INCORRECT tires, worn tie rod ends, loose steering gear, a worn\015\012steering gear box, a loose Pitman arm, worn out bushings on the upper\015\012links, bad front end alignment, or a faulty power steering pump.
