Having problems with your Jeep Grand Cherokee ?

I have a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and the Mechanic indicated the the Fuel Injection Wiring Harness is bad and needs to be replaced. They said a replacement is not available and offered no solutions other than finding one in a junk yard. Any suggestions??

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

To my understanding, your basic requirement is a "Fuel Injection Wiring Harness" which is not readily available as it is. The "Fuel Injection Wiring Harness" is a part, actually one of the ends of a main harness coming from the computer. What commonly available would be the complete PCM (ECU/ECM) harness or even engine harness. You can try inquiring from here, here or here.

Incidentally, there are auto electricians who repair/rebuilt or custom make wiring harnesses. This is especially true in places where replacement parts are rather difficult to come by.

  • were the connectors to the computer (PCM) checked, cleaned and tested for continuity to the harness end connectors;
  • \015\012
  • if the concern why the harness was diagnosed as defective would be intermittent stalling, power loss, no start, have you considered possibility of a faulty PCM;
  • \015\012
  • there are some models/versions that have issues with overtightened Torx screws which were solved by loosening said Torx screws.

Would appreciate a postback/update.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.
