Having problems with your Jeep Grand Cherokee ?

I have a 2000 jeep cherokee grand limited V8.When the fuel tank is about half empty, the fuel gauge shows empty (intermittently) and sounds the out-of fuel alarm. It eventually will show correct reading when ignition is switched on and off several times (if lucky) or if I add fuel to the tank.

Sounds like float in the tank is sticking. You can try running a good fuel system cleaner like SeaFoam through it then replace fuel filter or pull sender/float assembly inspect/clean and/or replace. Some have access panels right above tank sender, others the tank needs to be dropped.
Most likely a bad fuel level sending unit. It's inside the tank and on your truck I believe the tank must be removed to replace it.
