Having problems with your Jeep Grand Cherokee ?

My 95 grand cherokee sometimes downshifts when you slow up 'then won't up shift. if you stop and put it in park then back into drive it is fine. why?

Check the color of the tranny fluid.
\015\012If it's very dark red or black you need to change it and the filter.
\015\012Then also if the Jeep has alot of miles on it and the fluid was never changed, doing the fluid change can make your vehicle not move.
\015\012I've seen this happen plenty of times at the dealer(the transmission has clutch plates with asbestos on them,when they wear down , all the asbestos stays in the fluid which helps it shift. When you drain the fluid, guess what-theasbestos is lost and now we have grab between the clutch plates).
\015\012The end result with that is a rebuilt transmission.
