Having problems with your Kia Sportage ?

HOW TO REMOVE A BRAKE HUB FROM A 1999 KIA SPORTAGE, THE WHEEL HAS LOCKED ON ME WHILE DRIVING. WHEN I EXCEL THE LEFT WHEEL EXCELS BUT THE RIGHT STAYS LOCK AS IF THE BRAKES WERE SET.WHAT EVER ADVICE YOU HAVE TORESOLVE THIS WILL BE A HELP.

The other 4 studs, and there may also be a pair of phillips head screws there, hold the break drum and wheel hub to the axle flange. These will have to be removed to take the drum off. It is possible that a stuck wheel cylinder, brake line restriction, seized park brake cable, or seized bearing is preventing the wheel from turning. If the drum will not slide off after removing the studs, try loosening the brake bleeder screw on the back of the wheel cylinder where the brake line goes in. If there is a brake line restriction, this should release the brake pressure.
The hub is friction fit.
Held on by the wheel lugs when the tire is in place.
If you have a propane torch - add some heat to the hub to get it to expand - and give it a few whacks with a rubber mallet.

Other options are spraying with a penetrating oil... or using jack bolts (you will find threaded holes in the face where you can inset bolts to separate the hub.)
