Having problems with your Lexus ES 300 ?

What and where is the freeze plug(s)..Is it costly to repair, can i do it? Do I NEED TO replace the radiator, it is a 1995, and has no major repairs? Also in solving my heat problem, and I find it is the heating coil, what would be the approximate cost to fix, if I am unable to do it myself. Having heating problems!

Well the so called freeze plug as you call them is called a CORE plug as when the block is cast in steel/ iron or what ever the core plugs are there to wash out all the Sand and then put in Brass plugs which come out when freezes up,and they are in the block and in the heads Just fill with water and see were it leaks from either side if block or rear of block or in the heads under camshafts.
\015\012The block ones you can do yourself by knocking IN and then pulling them out with a big screwdriver but some are a bugger to get at
\015\012But if the leak is out side one then you might have to take off the exhaust manifold etc..
\015\012(Let me know how you get on with it)
\015\012No you dont need a new radiator or heating coil
\015\012and when you have repaired it we can also fix the heating problems.. Ron
