How do you adjust the engine idle on 1996 lincoln mk viii

Answers :

The idle speed is controlled by the power control module. It can not be adjusted. There is a bulletin for idle air control valve sticking on these vehicles. This controls the air going into the engine which will also controls the idle speed. One other thing is to clean your mas air flow sensor. You can get a cleaner for this at your local part store.Let it air dry do not blow dry it.If you haven`t had a tune up in a while this would be a good time to replace the plugs, air filter, and fuel filter. The bulletin number for the idle air control is 97-9-5.The part number for the revised valve is F6LZ-9F71AC.Hope this helps.Good luck.
