Having problems with your Mercury Cougar ?

When I try to start my 1999 Cougar, it sounds like the starter grinding and will not start sometimes. Is this a starter problem or a flywheel problem? AND where is the started located? I can not find it. Thanks

Answers :

The starter is located underneath the motor next to the flywheel you could follow the positive terminal from the battery down to the starter .
The starter is located under the air filter box on the driver side. you may have to remove fuel lines. you can call orieleys or advanced and get a step by step.
