Having problems with your Mercury Grand Marquis ?

I have a 2003 GS Grand Marquis. i got a great deal on some original wheels from a 2007 with brand new tires. so i put them on. well now when i get on the highway and try to go passed 50 mph, i lose power and the traction light comes on the dash. so i cant go faster than 50 mph. if anyone can help me please do. im thinking there must be a sensor or something that i have to reset.

Answers :

Are the tires the same diameter as those that where
on the car new ?

Put a thin 1/4" tape measure around the outside diameter
& measure the old & new ones

I have no idea where all this resetting nonsense comes from,
but it is rampant on this web site

Common Sense tells you, changing tires may have some
effect on the vehicle, but to expect the vehicle to be built
so you can do whatever you want & just reset something is

Not to go over 50 mph-- is a blocked exhaust converter or
fuel filter or some other issue
