Perhaps the linkage from the shifter to the transmission has become disconnected. If not that you may have transmission issues.

You may also need to detach the shifter from cable/rod that goes\015\012to transmission and check if there's anything that you need to repair/replace.

Check also the shift control solenoids. These solenoids are identified as "Shift Solenoid A" and "Shift Solenoid B". An automatic\015\012transmission or transaxle gets their different gears by applying\015\012hydraulic pressure to or releasing hydraulic pressure from the internal\015\012mechanisms that hold gear sets engaged. Hydraulic pressure is also used\015\012to apply or release the internal clutches for the gear sets and allows\015\012for the shifts between gears. The solenoids are electrically applied to\015\012block pressure lines and un-applied to open the line for pressure.\015\012Depending on which solenoids are enegized (blocking a passage) and\015\012de-energized (allowing pressure) there are four possible combinations\015\012of ways for SSA and SSB to allow fluid to flow (On-On; On-Off; Off-Off;\015\012and Off-On). Those combinations give you the separate gears in your\015\012automatic transmission based on the routing of fluid through the\015\012transmission's internal passage ways to the holding devices or gear\015\012sets. When a solenoid stops working you typically hear that the\015\012transmission isn't shifting into a gear.

Have a great day!
\015\012A low cost way to go first would be to try and change the trans fluids.
\015\012The rotors have legal limits of thickness assigned to them by the Department of Transportation. If the rotors are too thin to be machined or have worn beyond the minimum spec, then the rotors need to be replaced. Most shops/mechanics will explain this, so I would ask your shop to do the same and show you the specs etc.
\015\012Thanks for contacting Fixya
