Having problems with your Mitsubishi Lancer ?

Hi there I have a 2000 mitsubishi cedia wagon with the 4g93 1.8ltr GDI engine. A few weeks ago I was having trouble with the vehicle idling and surging very violently when applying immediate gas so I had it checked out and apparently the mechanic diagnose the fault as having high carbon build up in the intake and cylinders aswel as a faulty fuel pump. So its been a couple weeks now with the repairs applyed and the vehicle runs ok but still surges when giving it immediate gas in the low range 0-

There are a few in tank cleaners out there the best is probably a cleaner called seafome, you can get it at NAPA or NAPA.com it will not work over night it might take a few tanks of fuel with the treatment, but if it does not come out of it within a few 100 miles then you might need to have them replaced, or power flushed by a shop.....good luck
HI there will. To me it sounds like its is either an issue with the fuel pressure regulator or the injectors themselves. Did your mechanic check any of these systems? If not i wouldadvise that those systems be inspected. Both of those can cause surges in fuel delivery causing suges in power.
