Having problems with your Mitsubishi Montero Sport ?

Why does the A/C belt jump off 2000 Monterro sport

\015 Yesterday I reinstalled the A/C belt, found lying in the engine compt, after a complaint from my wife that the A/C was not cooling. After installing it good and tight, I checked to be sure it was operating OK... not wobling or a compressor lock up. A/C was cooling good. No noise or roughness was noted when inspecting the idler or the compressor pulley bearings. Balancer appears to be tight, not bent or warped. No belt woble when running. Any Ideas???\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-08-2019

Answers :

You are right on to keep an eye on this...the bearings in the compressor or water pump can come and go at first...throwing the belt is usually the first symptom...your adjustment may have fixed a stretched belt. Hope this helps.
