Having problems with your Oldsmobile Regency ?

1998 olds 88 dash heater vacuum

\015 The heater dash cluster has the heater control, fan speeds,temp.,a/c and rear window defroster in it. The off switch is on the control selector and this is run by a vacuum. I have no power to the a/c and rear window defroster.and no main power to the fan. After removing the glove box door I see a vacuum line going to a fuse /relay pannel on the passenger side.Does this go to a switch that throws power to the main heater cluster? Also the door that changes from hot air to cold air will not open all the way. I disconnected it from the vacuum valve and the door moves freely. On the electric side I have checked fuses, changed the heater dash cluster, heater relay and fan switch. None of these changes made the heater, the a/c or rear window defroster work. If you cannot help me, can you tell me where to get a free electric and vacuum diagram on line for this car. Thank You\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-07-2021

Answers :

On the right side of steering colum there is a plug. there is a wire that gets warm and loses connection. check by moving plug. my heater and ac would not work and caused the vacume swith to stay open.
