Having problems with your Saturn SL ?

I think my tyrod may be disconnected. How can I be sure?

Answers :

I assume you mean tie rod, which is part of the steering mechanism of any vehicle.

The tie rods connect the individual wheels to the steering box AKA steering sector via a ball and socket type of flexible joint.

If a tie rod is disconnected, you CANNOT STEER your car. If one is badly worn, you will experience a lot of slack (lost motion) in the steering wheel and quite likely hear a popping sound as well.

If you are unsure, consult a local mechanic before attempting to drive the car, as this could be very dangerous and lead to a crash.
