How to do a wheel alignment

Nearly impossible but there are some things that you can do to reduce tyre wear.. 1---place the wheels in the straight ahead position. Using a spirit level place it vertical across the front rims touching only the rim top and bottom . adjust to achieve the bubble just touching on the outer line. That should give you about 1/2 to 1 degree camber. next measure with a tape the distance between the left and right rims 1/2 way up on the front of the rim. Record this measurement. Repeat the measuring at the back of the front rims at the same level as the front measurement was taken Adjust the tie rod ends evenly until the front measurement is anout 1/8 to 1/4 " smaller than the rear measurement. This is the toe in/ out measurement. The caster adjustment you will need a caster angle gauge. They are available and they stick on the hub center. and measure the difference in degrees from full left to full right turn. It need to be about 1 to 1&1/2 degrees positive.. It would be cheaper on the tyres to have the alignment done professionally and a sight quicker.
