You check all the fuses, including the 30amp fuse or is it 40amp they are not blown none of them, dont take of any leads when the car is running that will definetly short the system. use a volt meter okay. Well if you dont have one use this method then we will trouble shoot the alternator. got a pocket screw driver? you can only do this if there is no cover on the back of the alternator and if it is safe to reach the back of the alternator without falling in the engine. get a sizable screw driver .Tthe middle but area of the alternator produces a magnetic potential, you are charging. now is there a magnetic potential there if yes you are charging if no then you are not as long as its 2 volt above battery there is a magnetic potential and you are charging if it is 1 volt of potential there is no potential and no charging. you basically testing for a magnetic attraction of the screw driver to the middle back of the alternator. so dont remove the leads, here youll know if you need a battery. magnet is there get a battery, no magnet get and alternaor.
