Having problems with your Toyota 4Runner ?

I have a 1992 4 runner and the dealer just replaced the entire engine and it has an idle problem. When you start it up it runs fine but if I take it on a long trip about 1 hour of continuious running the idle drops down to almost nothing or stalls. Can you help? Thanks Doug

Answers :

I would start with the throttle positioning sensor. The computer tells this sensor when to raise the rpm's and lower the rpm's. Either that or just turn the idle up a tiny bit manually. There is a screw on the throttle body, just turn it clockwise about 1/4 of a turn.
