REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

\015\012On all engines except the 2UZ-FE, the starter is external, mounted in\015\012 a conventional manner, alongside the engine block. One the 2UZ-FE, \015\012however, the starter is mounted in the 'V' of the engine, between the \015\012cylinder head banks. The entire intake manifold assembly must be removed\015\012 to access the starter motor and solenoid. (Toyota calls the solenoid a \015\012"magnetic switch.")
