Having problems with your Volkswagen Jetta ?

Mechanic says I need to replace my wheel bearings on my 97 Jetta. Is this something I can do myself or find a less expensive way than the mechanic?

Answers :

The bearings need to be pressed in so if you have access to a press you can do them yourself. Speaking from experience, putting them back in with a hammer and block doesn't work. It wont get the bearings in tight enough or straight enough on a VW. Two months later I has to redo them. Hope this helps.
