Having problems with your Volkswagen Passat ?

I own a 2001.5 VW Passat. In May, I had the oil pump replaced and it was running fine. I also had a coolant leak but I kept the car with coolant so that it would continue to run fine and it did. Recently, I had to take the car to a body shop to get some work done. They ended up draining my battery dry and did not check my levels of coolant after i told them that it was draining. If the oil light comes on, you should not run the car. Although your oil pump was changed, did you have the oil pickup tube thuroughly cleaned out? Usually when the oil light comes on, either engine is very low on oil, or it's not getting sucked up through pickup tube or the pump
